It was at the Dolce Vita, the nerve centre of Lausanne’s alternative community, that Michel Cleis played his first records. In this melting pot of various influences, a movement in full expansion appeared: house music. Michel, inspired by this new sound quickly adopted it and integrated it into his sets, becoming a real aficionado.
The closing of the Dolce Vita didn’t dampen this enthusiasm; on the contrary, he started the concept “Wunderbar” at the D! Club while dabbling at producing. He brought out a few maxis in collaboration with Marcello ( Erik Truffaz 4tet) and Seb K (shakedown) under the name “Truxton” on V2 records.
His growing popularity and his undeniable talent permitted him to obtain residencies in prestigious clubs such as the MAD in Lausanne, The Supermarket in Zurich or the Q Club also in Zurich. Of a passionate being this passion can be felt in his music, the ease at which he is able to change repertoire bears witness to an omnipresent conscience towards style. Michel subtlety intertwines eclectic mixtures into each one of his performances from house, electro to freaky disco.
His remixes on Panorama Rec and Plantmusic Rec did not go unnoticed and he is currently working on an electro-pop project with Dominik Keagan (Plantmusic) Nutty (Death Combo), & Marcello Giuliani. He also has a more dance-floor orientated project in collaboration with Eric Borgo and Salvatore Freda, which we will soon be able to enjoy on the prestigious Cadenza label.
